Christina Alexandra Heriz-Jones was trained in London. Her interest in design began with a BTEC in graphic design, fine art & print at Chelsea College of Art followed by a Foundation course at Central Saint Martins. After 2 years training in a 2-D environment,Christina was offered places at Chelsea College of Art, LCP and Central Saint Martins. She went on to broaden her design and printing skills by accepting a place on a 3-D design BA and later transferred to a BA in Jewellery at Central Saint Martins, where she achieved a 1st Class Hons for her Graduate Collection.
Christinas 2-D design and 3D design training is combined with a thorough background in traditional design techniques and manufacturing processes. This enables her to work with both 2-D designs on paper as well as produce 3-D designs on the computer using CAD software to perfect the final product – whether it be a print, piece of clothing or jewellery design. Her keen eye as a jeweller is seen in her design (cut and pattern) and attention to detail (trims, buttons, beading and choice of materials) and quality of production. Following her graduation from CSM Christina was considered for a place on an M-Phil at the RCA but chose to pursue active work instead where she worked alongside Jade Jagger on her signature range for JEZEBEL . This was followed by the creation of a 3-D CAD-based jewellery range for BLUE POPPY COUTURE. Christina subsequently decided to start working on designs for her own label – which encompasses both clothing and jewellery with the launch of ALVER.
Alver would like to thank Robert Nemark and Graham Rebak for their help. Shot on location at Beach Blanket Babylon, Notting Hill.
